I don't need it because mine has a brake shoe style inside the rotor. I appreciate your feedback, though.

New brake pads for the rear...

Would it be necessary to reset anything if I replace the rear pads before the sensor tells me to? I'm hoping to change them soon, as they may last for another month or two, but that's when the hot weather sets in. By the way, this is not a M class; it has an internal shoe style E brake.

As long as the rust doesn't eat away at the steel, it's perfectly OK. The brands Brembo, ATE, Sebro, Zimmerman, and EBC are respectable, and you may even get good deals from the dealer on occasion.

Fixing a coolant leak and replacing the radiator

I've already spent $2,000 fixing hoses and connections after a sudden and severe coolant leak in 2019 with 86,000 miles.

We will need to repair one of the three radiator tanks and a few hoses and connectors, according to the Indianapolis technician.


After spending $7k on repairs, I really don't ...

I believe the previous owner had it in for repairs because he had the service papers when I purchased the car. Roughly 170,000 miles (or 189,000 kilometers) make it up.

Salutations, everyone. So, I noticed this rattling sound today when I turned on my 01 540i after letting it idle for a little. Is this the timing chain guidelines I'm looking for, or am I missing something? I hope that the slapping sound described by others as the sound of timing chain guides ...
