I have a 99 3.8. I just checked the coils and they dont seem to be the issue. I replaced the Ignition module last year so Im hoping that wont be the issue cuz its getting spark to the coils.. Plugs are new as well as the wires. Is there a sensor that would cause this? I can smell the unburnt fuel so I know something isnt firing. I noticed it last week when it would start to bog at certain times then disappear. This afternoon when I got into it and fired it up after work, it ran like a Ford on its best day. I scanned it and it says "random misfire" Is this possibly a sensor like cam position or crank sensor..? Any help would be appreciated.

Is that the coil on plug set up? Does the ODB code thing say which plug is misfiring, was there a code #?
Google is great ran across this info
Engine misfires can be caused by a few things, loss of spark, air/fuel mixture is out of balance, or loss of compression. Fouled/damaged spark plugs, bad wires, or faulty coils can lead to the spark issues. A "lean misfire" can occur when the air/fuel mixture is too lean which can be caused by a dirty/inoperative fuel injector, vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks before the 02 sensors, or low fuel pressure caused by a weak fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or a defective fuel pressure regulator. Finally, a loss of compression, caused by a damaged valve or head gasket can lead to misfires as well.
Also found lots of "check the cat" and Check the O2 suggestions.

I have a 2011 Camaro 1SS with a 6 speed manual and when I picked it up from the dealer it was running ruff! I now have 1300 miles and seems to have gotten worse. There has not been any kind of dignostic warnings come up about it. The dealer says they cannot do anything unless the dignostic lights come on, Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem! I use premium fuel nothing under 91% grade.
By saying its running ruff it acts like a vaccum line off a carburator but it doesn't have a carb.

If its doing it consistently even without a code they should be able to 'duplicate' it and see there is a problem. They can then put it on the computer and check that everything it working properly.
