Are there really spark plugs that add 3-6% better fuel economy, 3-12% more hp?

Its an old truck/explore looking thing lol.. It is a V6 and he upped it from 100 somthing HP to 300+ HP. Buuuut im not sure if he is lying now lol. It is pretty old tho
