Has anyone been looking at and comparing aftermarket exhausts?
Just curious as to what your thoughts are.

RJS Stiletto 02-13-2010, 01:51 AM Hi Iam in the wrong year camaro section. However Iwas blessed with the totl system on my 97 ss Stiletto out! BeeMe 02-13-2010, 10:27 AM Did you check our vendors here? They might have something for you. All the systems are nice. I like magnaflow and lots of others have used and liked Borla and Corsa. I'm pretty sure they would have V6 exhaust as well. Not sure what you want ina n exhaust since some are louder than others. And some are more expensive. greekzzz 04-15-2011, 12:05 PM Hey all. I just boughtmy 2011 3 months ago..found out my wife is pregnant 2 months ago. I can't go all out like I wanted to but can someone point me in the right direction on up grading my mufflers at least. Just wanted a little more gutter sound. RandallMan 04-18-2011, 04:14 PM I, too have been looking toward upgrading my exhaust and have been researching several of the brands out there. I think I've settled on Flowmasters American Thunder series Axle Back set but I looked at Borla and Corsa too. After listening to tone quality from as many clips as I could find online I decided I like the Flowmaster best. Like greekzzz cost is a big deciding factor so I'm keeping an eye out on Amazon.com. The Axle Back set up I want retails for $600 or so but I've seen the various vendors offer it as low as $350. Currently it's $427. Eventually it'll comeback down again and I'll snag it then. There's even a how-to-install video online by Flowmaster if you've got the tools and the time...I'll let the local muffler shop do for me. V6owner 04-19-2011, 12:18 AM If it is a V6 I would go with MRT V2.0 jjgutterball 05-12-2011, 10:31 PM Randleman I would find out what type of muffler is on the American Thunder series. If it's the Flowmaster 40 series, I wouldn't use them. I installed Flowmaster mufflers ( 40 series) on my v6 camaro and they are loud, sounds like glass packs, and at 70 MPH, you get a droning that will loosen your teeth fillings. RandallMan 05-13-2011, 12:53 PM Thanks for the heads up gutterball. The American Thunder series does use the classic 40 muffler...will have to research more... jjgutterball 05-15-2011, 08:26 PM Randlleman, I just had my Flowmasters replaced with Magnaflows - much better, still get that low growl, but no resonance at high speeds. also I think Dynamax would also work. they just have to be 14 x 9 or shorter, and have center inlet, offset outlet. jjgutterball 05-21-2011, 08:47 PM I had the BBK Headers with Low Restriction Mufflers installed. Now my check Eng light comes on. Anyone else have a similar problem ?? BeeMe 05-22-2011, 09:07 PM maybe the o2s did you tune after the exhaust install. jjgutterball 07-29-2011, 10:43 PM Does anyone know where the Oil Pressure Sw is on the 2011V6 Camaro?? BeeMe 07-30-2011, 08:48 PM not sure I understand the question. V6owner 09-08-2011, 10:48 PM I had the BBK Headers with Low Restriction Mufflers installed. Now my check Eng light comes on. Anyone else have a similar problem ?? Yep very common with Long tube headers. You need a tune to get ride of the check engine light. The only tune that actually works for this engine is trifecta tune. All the others add nothing. |
