:doh:I have a 69 camaro and developed a new problem recently. Here's how it goes: (the cars been warmed up) I'm sitting at a stop light it turns green, I touch the gas pedal lightly and it has a mind of its own and goes to the floor, I hit the brakes, but just burn rubber, I shift to nuetral, everything is fine. It has happen several times now with no one able to figure what's happening. I have check all connecting from the pedal to the carb with everything looking fine. Help, what's going on?????

Not sure it really matters, this thread is 6+ months old and the OP hasn't been on since July. But....
the pedal goes to the floor when you touch it? When you shif to N does it rev up like the pedal is still on the floor? Do you have to lift the pedal or anything to make it stop, or does just shifting clear it up?
My first thought was the return spring broke and isnt' giving resistance to keep the pedal off the floor. But if shifting is making the uncontrolled rev up go awayt I'd have to guess the issue is tied more to the trans. Not sure what though. What kind of trans do you have?
