To all Camaro owners,

The rear differential bushings in the Camaro are designed more for comfort and reduction of noise that performance. There is serious movement in these bushings.

Attached is a link for you to see how to replace them. They are pretty easy to do.

Plus there is a special enhancement procedure not validated yet for the VERY serious HP drag Camaros

Here is the link

this file is too big to post on this forum
Any questions, just ask!

thanks

So lets be serious about the bushings for a moment. We really have not spent a lot of time on some of the bushings. But AI will spend a little time discussing the differential bushings.

We have a lot of experience with them and the suspension. How? It is the thousands of Zeta platform vehicles that have been done in Australia and here in the states. We have the G8, which is Zeta 1 and the Camaro will be Zeta 2. What are the differences?
1. Camaro will use a different bushing/joint on the lower rear outer control arm bushing
2. Struts and coils are shorter
3. Front strut bushing is light years, and I mean light years better than the G8
4. The front radius rod is larger by a couple of mm
5. Radius rods and ball joints are slightly larger than G8.

That is it. But the Zeta platform is a fantastic platform. You Pedderize it and you go from "wow!" to "holy Sh%^&*"

The differential mount bushings, 3 of them, allow a very serious amount of movement in the diff. What will this do? this will reduce torq, delay torq, and add to wheel hop. All these things have been found on the G8 and the bushing has proven its salt.

You ask why they would build it this way? The answer is noise abatement. GM is near paranoid on reducing noises. Having a soft bushing reduces road noise. Now I really do not think any of the G8 owners have commented on any increases in road noise.

I think with tires and our suspension, you will be in the 1.+ with the gs instead of the .90 gs with the SS, and .93gs with the V6. This blows me away, however.
